“Pakistan Army Bestows Honorary Captain Rank on Amir Khan”

Amir Khan Receives Honorary Captaincy from Pakistan Army

British-Pakistani boxer Amir Khan was bestowed with the honorary rank of captain by the Pakistan Army following his meeting with Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir.

Accompanied by martial arts champion Shahzaib Rind, Khan visited General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, where they were lauded by General Munir for their exceptional achievements in sports. Rind gained attention for his rapid victory over Indian fighter Rana Singh in the ‘Karate Combat’ event in Dubai last month.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) issued a statement appreciating the athletes’ visit and highlighting the army chief’s recognition of their phenomenal contributions to the field of sports. General Munir expressed his confidence in Pakistan’s youth and their remarkable potential.

Khan shared his gratitude on Instagram, posting a video and photos wearing the Pakistan Army uniform. In one photo, he is seen chanting the slogan “Pakistan Zindabad” in the traditional style of military officers, while another depicts him receiving a guard of honor from smartly turned-out soldiers at the GHQ.

During his journey to the army’s headquarters, Khan expressed his joy at being honored as a captain and thanked the Pakistan Army for the recognition. He clarified that the honorary rank was bestowed upon him as a gesture of appreciation from his homeland, emphasizing his love for Pakistan and its people while stating his non-involvement in political matters.
