Bahawalpur: Celebrating Local Sports Achievements

Commissioner of Bahawalpur Division, Nadir Chatha, praised the region’s rich sports history and honored its remarkable hockey players for their contributions on national and international stages.
Cash Prizes for Outstanding Performance
On behalf of the Divisional Sports Committee, Commissioner Chatha awarded incentive checks of 200,000 rupees each to hockey players Arshad Liaqat and Muneeb ur Rehman. These players were recognized for their outstanding performances in the Sultan Azlan Shah Hockey Tournament.
Acknowledging Excellence
Commissioner Chatha highlighted the exceptional sportsmanship of the Bahawalpur hockey team, which has qualified for the final match of the Sultan Azlan Shah Hockey Tournament 2024. He extended his congratulations and appreciation to the players for their excellent performance. He emphasized that Arshad Liaqat and Muneeb ur Rehman are a source of pride for Bahawalpur and expressed hope that they would continue to bring honor to Pakistan.
Promoting Hockey in Bahawalpur
In addition to the cash prizes, Commissioner Chatha announced the distribution of hockey sticks to players in Bahawalpur to further promote the sport. The event was attended by Regional Sports Officer Muhammad Aamir Hamid, as well as various sports personalities and enthusiasts.
